Broadband for Suffolk

The government is now running a national procurement process to select the companies who can do the work to deliver the broadband coverage.  Once completed, we in Suffolk will run our own local competition to choose one of these companies.  This is likely to take place in the first half of 2012, with implementation starting next autumn.

We are now looking for businesses to help, by demonstrating that there is a real readiness and demand for broadband in Suffolk.  They can do this via a business survey, which seeks to provide evidence to providers about the demand and market potential for the service in Suffolk, and also provides us with information about the types of need across the county.  We would encourage everyone to use their contacts and channels to publicise the survey, which can be found at
